Priscilla Kamar
"My work is an invitation. I create experiences of light, allowing each person to step into a world that exists only for them."
Artist Statement
Priscilla Kamar creates immersive sculptural environments that invite personal discovery. Through layered structures of light and form, her work creates the sensation of entering a space rather than simply observing an object. Each piece unfolds through shifting perspectives, reflections, and pathways of light. No two viewpoints are the same. Her work explores perception, curiosity, and quiet transformation, offering viewers moments of expansion and discovery within layered visual worlds.
Love, 2019, 48 × 48 inches, Plexiglass on mirrored plexiglass
When viewed head-on, the work appears as layered horizontal lines within the figure's hair. As the viewer shifts position, the lines weave into motion and reveal the word love embedded within the structure. Constructed entirely from plexiglass, the piece explores perception, illusion, and the relationship between movement and meaning.
Selected Works
My practice explores layered environments and transformative sculpture, where light, movement, and suspended forms create immersive experiences. Each work invites the viewer to step into a shifting world of reflection, curiosity, and discovery — where no two perspectives are ever the same.
Guayacan Canopy Installation (2024)
A large-scale immersive installation inspired by the flowering Guayacan tree, composed of hand-sculpted plexiglass dragonflies and layered elements painted with acrylic. Suspended in a flowing canopy across two panels, the work transforms the space into a luminous environment where light moves continuously through the forms, echoing the sensation of standing beneath a blooming tree.
Designed to invite movement and exploration, the installation creates a feeling of floating serenity and quiet wonder. Each angle reveals a new composition as reflections shift and overlap, allowing viewers to experience an ever-evolving landscape of light, depth, and motion.

Artist Bio
Priscilla Kamar is a contemporary sculptural artist whose work explores light, movement, and layered perception through intricate plexiglass constructions. Her practice centers on creating immersive environments that invite viewers into a shifting visual experience, where reflection and transparency transform with every angle. Each piece becomes a private world — floating, luminous, and alive — encouraging curiosity, calm, and discovery.
Working primarily with sculpted plexiglass, resin, and mixed media, Kamar constructs dimensional compositions that blur the boundary between sculpture and painting. Her works often draw from personal identity, memory, and cultural roots, including themes connected to Israel and the emotional landscapes of family, love, and resilience. Through suspended elements and layered structures, she builds spaces that feel both weightless and expansive, allowing viewers to step into a moment of wonder and introspection.
Many of Kamar's large-scale works are commissioned installations, reflecting her commitment to creating site-specific environments that respond to architecture and light. Whether intimate or monumental, her sculptures are designed to evolve with their surroundings, offering a slightly altered experience from every vantage point. Kamar continues to expand her practice toward increasingly ambitious installations that transform physical spaces into experiential encounters with light and form.

Celebration Series
The Celebration Series explores sculptural objects that move between function and art. Each piece is designed to be used during moments of gathering and celebration, and afterward to remain as a luminous artwork within the space.
Through layered plexiglass construction and light-responsive surfaces, these works preserve the atmosphere of celebration and transform everyday ritual into lasting visual experience.
